Admission Process

All journeys begin with one step: the first one.

Are you ready to take the first step?

Step One:  Call us at 416-748-9988

Step Two:  Every Tuesday evening, Inquiry Group meetings are held at Caritas head office. Join us to find out if our program is right for you. No appointment is necessary.  Just bring yourself, and others that want to be part of your recovery, whether that is your parents, spouse, siblings or friends, all are welcome, as they will become your support group.  If you live out of town or province, we can arrange a phone interview; admission can be processed at an outreach level.

Once you have come to an Inquiry Group meeting, and you have decided you want to be part of our Therapeutic Community, we will arrange a first personal interview. We will ask you some routine questions, and provide you with a checklist of what you need to do before entering the program.

Step Three:  Once we have completed your assessment, we will ask you if you want to take the next step – attend our Day Program for a few days (if you qualify). This will give you an opportunity to see what actually happens during a typical day and what Caritas is all about.

Step Four:  Are you ready for the final step?  Tell us you are serious and ready to walk where hundreds of other men have walked before you.  You are now ready to join our Program , congratulations.

Admission to Caritas is voluntary. Our program is for men over the age of sixteen (some special circumstances may apply if you are under this age).  You don’t need a professional referral however we do accept referrals from doctors, psychiatrists, or other health care professionals. You can also be referred by the criminal justice system. If you are incarcerated or in the hospital, we will work with Probation Officers, Social Workers, Lawyers or other members of your team.
