Imagine

Colin writes:
When presented with the idea to write a brief summary of my life I pondered the thought of what I could say or possibly have to offer anyone. The promise that it might be read aloud or even printed brings no interest to my mind, although to reflect on the idea that I might help or bring an understanding to another that might have of be going through similar struggle, sparks some interest.

Now I can begin by talking about being raised by alcoholic parents, living well below the poverty line, and how parental neglect left me feeling inadequate. I think the saddest part about my life is that my addiction has left me more alone than I intended it to. I guess it took a real dark bottom to finally see a small light. Coming to Caritas and becoming a lot more self-aware did it. I finally began to love myself for the very first time in my life. My time at Caritas has not been easy, changing and becoming aware of certain habits and behaviours is an everyday struggle. I am very grateful for this place and the opportunity to alter my life.
